Overview

JOB SUMMARY:
Interview loan applicants to solicit information; investigate applicants' backgrounds and verify references; prepare loan request papers; and forward findings, reports, and documents to lender. Review loan papers to ensure completeness, and complete transactions between loan establishment, borrowers, and sellers upon approval of loan.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Verify and examine information and accuracy of loan application and closing documents
- Calculate, review and correct errors on interest, principal, payment and closing costs using computers or calculators
- Assembles and compile documents for loan closings, such as title abstracts, insurance forms, loan forms and tax receipts
- Prepare and type loan applications, closing documents, legal documents, letters, forms government notices and check
- Submit loan applications with recommendation for underwriting approval
- Check value of customer collateral to be held as loan security
- Present loan and repayment schedules to customers
- Contact customers by mail, telephone or in person concerning the acceptance or rejections of applications
- Review customer accounts in order to determine whether payments are made on time and that other loan terms are being followed
- Answer questions and advise customers regarding loans and transactions


ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist lending team as necessary
- Completes clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, faxing documents, scanning, organizing and maintaining files
- Perform notary services for the bank as needed
- Complete other tasks as assigned

PROCEDURES:
- Follow commercial loan funding and compliance checklist; provide all disclosures as required by regulations; report HMDA relationships accurately; refer to Spirit of Texas Bank loan policies and procedures

 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- One to two years of experience
- High school diploma
